Citrus and Kalamata Salad

This bright and savory salad is perfect for sunny days and it comes together in no time at all! Use sweet cara cara oranges, or mix it up with blood oranges, ruby red grapefruit and meyer lemons. It certainly gets the ooohs and aaahs from guests when entertaining or makes a super quick and light summertime snack. Use high quality Olive Oil for best results.


prep time: 10-15 minutes

serves: 1-2 along with other sides


2 cara cara oranges and other citrus as you prefer

1/4 c pitted kalamata olives

3 TBS of really nice olive oil

pinch of sea salt

pinch of dried sumac

1/4 tsp et Oliva Za'atar Spice Blend

pinch of aleppo pepper or pül biber


  1. slice the peel off the citrus with a sharp knife, careful not to cut away to much of the flesh

  2. arrange on a serving platter with olives.

  3. drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle salt, sumac, pepper and za'atar blend over - don't over do it!

  4. Serve with a chilled glass of Rose
